Corona Extra is the number-one selling beer in Mexico and the leading export brand from Mexico. This pilsener type beer was first brewed in 1925 by Cervecería Modelo, located in Mexico City.

In addition to its popularity in the domestic market, Corona Extra has enjoyed remarkable success abroad, especially in the U.S. where it gained immense popularity among consumers during the early 1980's. The brand then entered Canada, followed by the Pacific Rim, Europe, Central and South America, the Caribbean and even in some African countries. It is currently available in more than 150 countries around the world.
